Zero biking, nice hiking - May 29

The rain is gone and the sky has cleared up! I woke up to a beautiful alpine morning. Here is the view outside my window.

Breakfast is a continental style. I had my muesli, coffee, croissant, and toast.

I am enjoying the alpine landscape and fresh mountain air so much that I decided to take a hike up the valley to the dam. But first, outside the back window is a little goat farm. At first I thought they were statues.

I walked up the stone steps to a small store where you can buy goat cheese and other local products, all on the honor system.

My hike to the dam was all on the road. Many switchbacks since it was made primarily for cars.  It's also very popular with Montessori bikers, but most of them are electric bikes. Wish I had one at times.

Here's some pictures on the way up. BTW, I gained 1,521 ft in elevation so well over 6,000 feet above sea level.
Dandelions are actually a pretty flower if they aren't growing in your yard.
Steep drop-off!
One of many shrines and memorials along the way.
Water water everywhere!
So good! A water fountain of fresh spring water
More to come.

My last day of exploiting

I got an early start this morning well, early for me. I wanted to beat the heat today, but I ended up staying out till the best came.  ...
