4 countries today

I was able to visit 4 countries today. I started in Liechtenstein, headed east and crossed the Rhine into Switzerland. From there my route wandered around the countryside a bit before cruising into a little chunk of Austria and finally, into Germany, where i'm staying for the night.

Becky, and I did the same thing back in 1976, although turning into Liechtenstein back then was actually a wrong turn. We thought that we were turning into Austria.

Getting to Switzerland from Liechtenstein is real easy. All you have to do who is head east, find a bridge, cross it and then you are in Switzerland.

Trail through Liechtenstein fields. I believe those are cabbages on the right.

Border crossings are easy here.

Go ahead and pick a bike route. I picked the top left one. I didn't know that there were skating routes along the Rhine. I never saw an inline skater or skateboarder unless they were in the city.

Don't know what breed of cow this is, but they've got nice horns.

All the farm machinery around here has got big, wide tires. I imagine that that's because the ground is quite soggy.

A lot of the route, at this point, was on the flood dikes of the Rhine. Nice smooth flat pavement.

There were a lot of raptor birds along the Rhine. This is the typical picture that I could get of one.

But I was lucky and I did get one good shot, with my Samsung phone, of this raptor. I don't know what it is but it was after something.

These bunkers are all along the Rhine. Switzerland may have been neutral during the war.But they were ready. Just in case...

BLACK OFFICE seems like a pretty obvious name for this building.

Crossing over the bridge into the Austria

Here was a historic wooden covered bridge that crossed over one of the canals in Austria

 Hey! That's me!

Yummers! An ice cream shop! A bowl of ice cream really hit the spot.

This area is the home of the Zeppelin. It just seems strange to see the Goodyear blimp, flying around the city. I didn't see any sporting events going on.

Bicycle path along the Bodensee.

The Bodensee. It's really large!

I wanted to see how cold the water from the Rhine was, but I got my feet wet doing it. The water is exceptionally clear. This was the first time I stuck my hand in the water of the Rhine.
Hey Mike, this one's for you. Go Beavs!

And finally, I found my hotel and checked in.This is my room for the night at the Hotel Möve Garni on Lindau Island.

My hotel

This is a medieval city with some streets so narrow that they would qualify as a slot canyon back home in Utah.

i didn't bring my drone with me, so this is the best picture I could find of the island.  My hotel is up near the top bridge.

Good night folks.
