Do they make Cologne in Koln?

I did it again. Accidentally deleted my post!  I'll try again but it's getting late so this will be a little shorter than the original. I may have time to supplement it tomorrow.

I was fearful of the idea of continental breakfasts when I came. Last time in Europe it was coffee,  maybe a piece of meat, and a biscuit. But all of these have been more of an all you can eat buffet. I eat a lot then have a small lunch on the road.

Castle near the end of Remagen

Rowing on the river

I may have seen the movie too many times but I would never set foot on a cruise ship named Poseidon!

I love the little library idea but I haven't figured out how to put a Kindle book in one.

This area is heavily industrialized,

but the route can still find its way into quiet forest portions.

Just downstream is the city of Bonn, the birth place of Beethoven. I sent Agnes a postcard from here.

Koln just ahead with many bridges

And unique architecture!

Would you like to visit a chocolate museum. The gift shop was full of chocolate, but i didn't buy any. It would have just melted in my bag.

Giant Ferris Wheel next door.

The railroad bridge was loaded with love locks.

Here's my home for the night. The one on the left that is.

Just around the corner is the enormous cathedral of Koln. It is so big you have to back up a block to get a picture of it, and then you need to shoot wide angle!  Here's some pictures outside and inside.

The Hari Krishnas were there singing and dancing. I haven't seen them since they quit doing airports.

And me eating dinner on the steps

I knew that they light the cathedral up at night so I went back this evening to see it.

Beautiful

Of to bed now. More tomorrow.

  3. That cathedral is gorgeous! I’d imagine it’s one of those things that’s even more impressive in real life too…

My last day of exploiting

I got an early start this morning well, early for me. I wanted to beat the heat today, but I ended up staying out till the heat came.  ...
